This is an urban legend that a lot of folks know about. Some have confirmed that it’s a true story. Do you know what development this story pertains to?

Once upon a time, a developer purchased several parcels of land for a residential subdivision. They were successful in consolidating adjacent properties–except for a small piece found in between. The owners of that property were asking for an astronomical price which was way over the budget of the developer. Time passes and negotiations stalled.

Then the owners threatened that they would put up a cemetery on their property. The developer was forced to acquire the land at the seller’s price.
