It Comes with the Sale

Once upon a time, a property investor acquired a house on the outskirts of a central business district.

The investor specialized in converting such properties into dormitory-style accommodations. It was a profitable venture, offering a 15% profit margin for those willing to endure a few challenges. Additionally, these investors provided a valuable service by creating affordable living spaces for employees close to their workplaces.

The property in question was an old family home. The transaction was fairly simple, and shortly after making an offer, the deal was finalized in a cafe.

The day after the closing, the investor visited the property to take some measurements. While inspecting one of the rooms, the investor was shocked to discover an elderly man confined to his bed, relying on an oxygen tank. It appeared that when the family received the payment, they abandoned their grandfather without a second thought.

End of story.

The key takeaway here is to thoroughly inspect a property before finalizing the deal, ensuring the seller has fully vacated it. In this case, the investor was left with the unexpected responsibility of finding a new place for the elderly man.
