The news about murdered Filipina and Isaraeli has been on the news for the past few days. So, I thought of reposting some stories about the dangers that come with the job of a broker.
But before that, here's the gist of the murdered couple's story.
Filipina lent money to an ex-Policeman. The ex-Policeman used a property in Tarlac as collateral. After some time, the ex-Policeman wanted the property back but Filipina didn't want to give it back (likely since the loan wasn't paid). So, the ex-Policeman said, he had a buyer for the property. The Filipina (and Israeli) went to the property to meet the buyer. The buyer turned out to be another ex-Policeman and an accomplice. They shot the couple.
Here are three other short stories to make brokers more paranoid...
1. A broker shows a unit to a client. The broker goes around the unit, presenting its features until noticing that the client is no longer following. The broker goes back to the other room and finds the client shirtless...and staring at her.
2. A client was just about to buy multiple units in a pre-selling project. He asked the broker to bring the documents for signing to his condo. Of course, the broker goes to the client's place. The client asks for the signing to be done in the bedroom.
3. A broker meets a client who wants to buy multiple units in a pre-selling project. The client asked for the signing to be done in a shady hotel outside of the city. The broker arrived at the lobby and felt that something was off. Another individual arrives to pick him up and bring him to the room. On the way to the room, the broker decides to back out, stating he suddenly had an emergency. The individual who picked him up then points a gun to his back. The individuals tie him up, steal all his belongings, and leave him in the bathtub.
It's a dangerous world.
