Must Bring to Handover

I recently came from a client's unit handover/punch list and wished I had these three things.

1. Bucket

A common problem of new units is clogged drains due to dried cement. Since I often show up for handovers in full office attire, I get my pants and socks wet whenever I turn on the faucet in the shower and test for clogged drains. Bringing a medium-sized pail will solve this problem. Collapsible ones are sold online, so it's not too bulky.

2. Phone wall charger

Another thing I keep forgetting to bring is a phone charger so you can test whether all the electric sockets are working that you could use to test electric sockets. It's annoying to find out a socket wasn't working when you need it the most. And it takes the engineering department a long time to fix because they're busy with other handovers.

3. Toilet Paper

One thing that you also have to check would be water leaks. Some water leaks are hard to detect. The usual practice of touching the surface and rubbing your fingers to see if it's wet won't cut it. So, it would be helpful to have toilet paper that you could use. Check behind the toilet bowl, underneath sinks and faucets.

Better yet, there are "water contact indicator" stickers that you could purchase abroad. These thin tapes change colors when they are physically contacted with water. You could leave these stickers in areas that come into contact with water (e.g., window frames) to know if water is present where it shouldn't be. The last thing you wish to happen is to see substantial water damage years later because the leak couldn't be detected. It's only after the paint started bubbling that you find out. By this time, the developer refuses to fix the damage because it's beyond the warranty period.

Care to add anything to the list?
