Cavite Governor Remulla said the contract for the US$ 11 Bn Sangley Point International Airport Project (SPIA) is targeted to be signed in the first week of February 2023.

April 2017 - Ayala Land launches Evo City, a mixed-use project seen to benefit from the development of SPIA.
October 2018 - Megaworld launches Maple Grove, a project situated near Evo City.
December 2019 - MacroAsia and China Communications Construction Co. (CCCC) wins auction for SPIA.
August 2020 - China Communications Construction Co. (CCCC) was blacklisted by the United States.
January 2021 - Cavite canceled the "notice of selection and award" of MacroAsia and CCCC.
March 2021 - Phase 2 of Ayala Land's Evo City project priced at Php71,000/sqm (vs. Php28,000 in April 2017).
June 2021 - Metro Pacific remains keen to submit bid for SPIA.
July 2021 - Due to the lingering effects of the pandemic, Ayala Land shifted the Php6.8 budget for the retail component of Evo City in Kawit, Cavite.
January 2022 - Macro Asia (together with Yuchengco, Virata, and Samsung) receive Cavite's certificate of acceptance for SPIA proposal.
