Once upon a time, an owner of a newly turned-over office unit noticed a chipped tile in the common area right in front of his property. The broken tile was an eyesore, and a safety issue since people could trip on it.
He pointed out the broken tile to the building admin, to which they confirmed. The admin said, "they will address the issue."
Months passed, and no action was taken. It seemed the chipped tile fell at the bottom of the admin's priority list.
Another set of months passed, and the owner offered to handle the repair and shoulder the expense. He assured the admin that the replacement would be homogenous to the existing ones. However, the admin rejected the proposal and reaffirmed that they would handle the repair.
Years passed, and up to this day, the tile remained chipped.
