TPLEX Extension

NEDA, which the PH President chairs, has approved San Miguel's Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) Extension project proposal.

Currently, TPLEX starts from SCTEX in Tarlac City and ends in Rosario, La Union. The proposed highway will extend TPLEX 59.4 km North, from Rosario, La Union, to San Juan, La Union. The target completion date has yet to be given since the project still needs to hurdle various procedures before construction.

In 2017, an article claimed that tourism in Baguio increased by 12% year-on-year in 9M2017 due to the construction of TPLEX. The extension should likewise bolster visitors to Luzon's northern regions when completed.
